The Culture Hack Method

Develop your Narrative Strategy

Now that we have a recoded narrative, we can create a Narrative Strategy.

A Narrative Strategy is a taking stock moment, a synthesis point combining your Narrative Objectives and reframed message.

The importance of the narrative strategy is to better define how to disseminate our new frames in the current conversation (more on this in the next section: Hack). In other words, the narrative strategy outlines what you will do and how you will do it.

Some guiding questions to help you define your narrative strategy are as follows:

  • Where is the conversation going amongst your target audiences?
  • What are the intersections between the Narrative Community of your target audience and other Narrative Communities?
  • What direction do you want the narratives to take?
  • What actions do you seek to mobilise through your new frames?

In the next section, your Narrative Strategy will be converted into an actual Culture Hack!

Footnotes

  1. As you refine your Narrative Strategy, keep in mind the key metrics for measuring impact: Attention, Network, and Power. Attention gauges whether the catalytic community engaged with your narrative and how. Network tracks shifts in relationships – did new alliances form or existing ones strengthen? Power assesses long-term change – has the community’s cohesion and commitment evolved, indicating a deeper shift in beliefs and behaviors? These insights will help you strategize more effectively before moving into the Hack phase.
